True Professional Microdermabrasion Products
Many times you here advertised that microdermabrasion products you can buy for the home are professional microdermabrasion products. While in some cases this may be true, for the vast majority this is not the case. Often times you will see a tube or cream that it is a professional microdermabrasion product, when there is no way for this to be the case. In order to know what it and is not a professional microdermabrasion product, you need to first understand how microdermabrasion works.
Understanding What A Professional Microdermabrasion Product Is
The process of removing dead skin from the body so that the lower layers are stimulated to regrow and come back fresh is the core of microdermabrasion. Many times there will be creams and other products that will support the regrowth and while they are most certainly a part of the microdermabrasion process, they are not microdermabrasion. You will see revitalizing creams and other products of this nature being advertised in stores as professional microdermabrasion products when they are not, they are merely creams to promote skin growth.
There are two types of microdermabrasion that you can find being done in spas today. The first type is crystal microdermabrasion. This involves using a stream of crystals to remove the dead skin off of your body. Once this is done creams and other things are applied to encourage the regrowth of your skin back from where the dead skin was stripped away. Everybody needs a layer of dead skin for the most part, but sometimes these layers can get built up and cause scars, lines and sags to become much more pronounced. By removing the dead skin and replacing it with young fresh live skin you can combat this process.
The second type of professional treatment done in spas is diamond microdermabrasion. This involves a wand that is coated in diamond dust. The wand is gently rubbed over the areas that you want treated thereby removing all the dead skin. This skin is sucked away by some other mechanism and again the skin is treated with creams and oils to promote its regrowth. Both take advantage of the bodies natural response and will attempt to rebuild the skin using this.
As you can see true professional microdermabrasion products are very different from the tubes and creams at your local pharmacy. While these are good for many things, you should not be fooled into thinking they are true microdermabrasion treatment products.
